Towards Professional Practice

Through internships and professional experiences alongside my studies, I have gradually developed my design sensibility while discovering the realities of the professional world.

Mise en Scène — Professional Experience

For one year, I worked at Mise en Scène, a company specialized in lighting design and distribution.
Following my second-year internship completed within the company, I was given the opportunity to continue alongside my studies as an interior architecture assistant.
My role mainly involved producing lighting plans and spatial 3D visualizations, allowing me to develop both technical and creative skills within real professional projects.

Lighting Approach

Working at Mise en Scène introduced me to the world of architectural and decorative lighting.
Through this experience, I developed a deeper understanding of lighting design, balancing technical requirements, regulations and spatial atmosphere. I also discovered exceptional design brands and learned how light can transform the perception and emotion of a space, shaping the way interiors are experienced and remembered.

Client Relations

This experience allowed me to discover an essential aspect of the profession that is rarely explored during studies: client interaction.
Through showroom appointments, site meetings and project discussions, I actively participated in exchanges with clients, architects and professionals.
These experiences helped me develop communication skills, adaptability and a better understanding of the realities of collaborative design work.

Site Experience

One of the most enriching parts of this experience was discovering construction sites firsthand.
Seeing projects move from concept to reality allowed me to better understand technical implementation, coordination between different trades and the overall rhythm of a project.
I also learned how to adapt to unexpected challenges such as delays and on-site constraints, which are an integral part of professional practice.

Atelier Grouard Architectes — Architecture Internship

As part of my third year of studies, I completed an internship within an architectural practice on Réunion Island. This experience gave me the opportunity to gain a deeper understanding of the architect’s profession and to explore the different stages involved in the development of an architectural project.

I also discovered a different approach to construction, shaped by the island’s tropical climate, available resources and the constraints associated with its geographical isolation. This experience broadened my perspective on how architecture can respond to its environmental and cultural context.

Beyond the professional experience, this internship was also a personal journey. Living far from home allowed me to develop greater independence, immerse myself in a different culture and strengthen my interest in international opportunities and cross-cultural experiences.

Menuiserie Merlo — Carpentry Internship

This experience allowed me to discover woodworking skills and techniques by observing and taking part in various fabrication processes. I also visited several construction sites to better understand the connection between design and execution. In parallel, I worked on design tasks using AutoCAD, strengthening my technical skills and attention to construction details.

Office fit-out project in Marseille, combining technical requirements with aesthetic intention through extensive curved wood detailing and a strong focus on acoustic comfort.

Construction — Internship & Employment

During my first year at the École Nationale Supérieure d’Architecture de Lyon, I completed a construction internship on the Les Fabriques project led by Bouygues Bâtiment Sud-Est in Marseille. This experience allowed me to discover the realities of the construction industry as well as the demanding work carried out on-site every day.
It was a particularly formative experience that gave me a real appreciation for construction sites and the collaborative dynamics behind large-scale projects. Following this internship, I was offered a student position on the same site, where I was responsible for concrete skip operations and overall site cleanliness management.
